The damage was caused by felling of a tree on the R-phase conductors in the span between its tower location 21 and 22 near Megdong area under Kamle district.
The power department’s executive engineer (E) transmission division II, Itanagar informed that the felling of tree has purportedly been caused by human activities and the law enforcement department has been intimated to investigate and take necessary action.
The extent of the damages have been assessed and field work for rectification of the damages caused and restoration of power supply to central and eastern Arunachal Pradesh has started, the department said in a press release.
The EE informed that the restoration is estimated to take a few days due to severe damage caused to one tower cross-arm, which will require complete replacement and for restringing of R-Phase conductors for span between tower location 21 to 22 and 22 to 23.
