KHONSA, May 15: Tirap district’s preparedness against Covid-19 was reviewed during a coordination meeting between the district’s MLAs and HoDs here on Friday.
DMO Dr Koblem Mossang highlighted the problems being faced by the frontline health workers due to the arrival of the returnees from various parts of the country at the quarantine centres at midnight.
“The reason behind the late arrival of the returnees may be due to long journey via the Namdang check gate in Changlang district,” she pointed out, and requested the house to identify Hukanjuri check gate in Tirap as the entry point for the returnees.
During the discussion on site selection for establishment of a zonal hospital, most of the members opined that Charju would be a feasible site for the purpose.
After threadbare discussion, Deputy Commissioner Bhanu Prabha informed that she would take up with the higher authority the matter of identifying an entry check gate for the returnees to the district.
She also assured to convene a meeting with the landowners for final site selection for the zonal hospital.
MLAs Wanglin Lowangdong, Wanglam Sawin and Chakat Aboh, SP Kardak Riba, medical officers, and nodal officers of quarantines facilities, among others, attended the meeting, which was convened by DoTCL Minister Wangki Lowang. (DIPRO)
