YUPIA, May 29: Papum Pare deputy commissioner Pige Ligu has directed all departments to provide accurate data of the district domestic product (DDP) to district statistics office (DSO) on time.
Addressing a meeting on DDP at his office here on Friday, Ligu highlighted the importance of DDP data in understanding the local development of the region and in formulating developmental plans by the govt.
District Statistical Officer E.M Riram, presented a report on the status of DDP data collection and requested all defaulting departments to submit their data at the earliest possible.
Yupia DFDO Kipa Taja also suggested DSO to prepare the DDP format in consultation with concerned departments for supplementary information in addition to existing submitted data.
The DDP data gives prior knowledge of the level of economic development of the region, improves local understanding of development process. The data also helps the planner to set priority in formulating development plans. The DDP estimates at current price are obtained by evaluating the goods and services produced during the year.
Among others, the officers from agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and veterinary departments attended the meeting which was conducted by maintaining precautions in view of present covid-19 situation. (DIPRO)
