LEKHI, Jul 21: Sonajuli-based Green Gold group, which is promoting ‘Organic Thailand Lemon’ product in the state, on Tuesday donated 1000 kgs of such lemons to the state quarantine facility (SQF) here.
The lemons were distributed in the presence of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, the agriculture marketing board CEO, the ICR DC, and others.
The CS said lemon would help boost the immunity of the patients at the SQF. Green Gold promoter Likha Maj said the decision to donate lemons was taken in recognition of the contribution of the frontline workers.
“Keeping in view the commendable services rendered by the security forces, the healthcare workers and all the frontline warriors, we decided to do our bit by donating lemons. Hopefully, our small effort will be of some help in the battle against Covid-19,” he said.
“The organic Thailand breed lemon is highly nutritious and beneficial in terms of medicinal values, and is much needed during this hour of Covid-19 pandemic to boost immunity,” he claimed.
