BASAR, Sep 21: Basar MLA Gokar Basar on Sunday visited Ego in Dari circle of Leparada district to meet with the flood-affected families there, and to take stock of the situation.
On 17 September, a cloudburst over Ego triggered a flashflood which left behind a trail of destruction in the area. Two persons died in the flood, and several houses and properties, including vehicles and heavy machinery, were also badly damaged.
The MLA handed over relief assistance to the affected families out of pocket, and gave assurance that the state government would provide relief to the affected families.
Later, Basar met NHIDCL Executive Director Ajay Ahluwalia and urged the executing agency to ensure early restoration of the road snapped by a heavy landslide during the flood.
Reportedly, the NHIDCL executive director has assured to restore the road within 15 days.
