Pre-budget consultative meet for seven districts held

PASIGHAT, 31 Jan: The regional pre-budget consultative meeting for seven districts was held at the DC’s conference hall here on Sunday.

Presiding over the meeting, advisor to planning department Jambey Tashi said despite the challenges being faced by the state government due to the Covid-19 pandemic it has continued to carry forward core developmental activities and ensured timely release of salaries, wages of govt. employees and pensioners.

Highlighting the focus areas for employment generation, livelihood opportunities, sustainable development, Tashi gave emphasis on

youth empowerment and support to the farmers  and growers of the state.

Tashi also highlighted the importance of the budget proposals, and said that need based proposals will be prioritized in the budget.

 The MLAs and DCs of Upper Siang, Siang, Shi-Yomi, Leparada, West Siang, Lower Siang and East Siang districts placed their proposals for  infrastructure  developments in various sectors. They also highlighted the need of manpower and importance of infrastructure development in newly created districts.

Tashi lauded all the participants in the meeting for highlighting the potentials and requirements of their respective districts, which would help in preparing an inclusive and need based budget.

Earlier, planning secretary N.T Glow explained the objectives of the pre-budget consultative meeting with stakeholders.

Earlier, the deputy commissioners of seven districts highlighted their district priority proposals through power-point presentations.

Health & family welfare minister Alo Libang, MLAs, ZPCs, planning joint director Okep Tayeng and district planning officers attended the meeting.  (DIPRO)
