ADC, others inspect school project

NAMSHU, 16 Mar: Dirang ADC Jotam Toko Obi along with CO (in-charge) Darge Tsering, Education AE Gyamar Natung, proprietor of Bomdila-based RD Enterprise Rinchin Dondup, GP Chairperson Namshu Sonam and others on Tuesday inspected the ongoing project for establishing a model residential school here in West Kameng district.

Funded by the union minority affairs ministry, work on the school began in October last year, and it is scheduled to be completed in 36 months at an estimated cost of Rs 36 crore.

The preliminary estimate of the project has been carried out and submitted for obtaining administrative approval and expenditure sanction from the competent authority.

The ADC said that the administration would support RD Enterprise, and directed the village authority and the villagers not to create any hindrance while the work is in progress. The school will provide free education to about 400 students of West Kameng, he said.

The proprietor of RD Enterprise assured to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe “if the executing agency will dismantle the old teachers’ quarters and other old buildings.”

The CO, All Monpa Students’ Union GS Leda Merakpa, Namsu GB Tsethar Bapu and GP Chairperson Sonam Wangchu Tsarmu also spoke.
