ANYA condemns eviction drive by Assam Police

ITANAGAR, 17 Mar: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) on Wednesday urged the state government to initiate measures with the Assam government to hammer out a permanent solution to the decades-old boundary dispute between the two states so that people residing in the boundary areas can live peacefully.

Condemning the ‘illegal’ eviction drive carried out by police and forest officials from Assam at Dolung village under Tarasso circle on 16 March, the ANYA demanded that the state government deploy separate and independent IGP and SPs for border affairs or interstate border affairs department to tackle any kind of law and order problems in the boundary areas.

The association further demanded the government to make border affairs or interstate border affairs fully functional by posting director, joint director and other staffers

immediately to monitor boundary issues for the welfare of people residing in boundary areas of Arunachal Pradesh.
