LEDUM, 8 Apr: A Ledum Gumin Soyin Dere-cum-community hall constructed completely on self-help basis by Ledum Employees’ Welfare Association (LEWA) and villagers of Ledum was inaugurated by former MLA Pani Taram here in East Siang district on Thursday.
Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion, Pani Taram appreciated LEWA and the villagers for constructing the community hall and appealed to the villagers to utilise the newly inaugurated community hall purposefully. He also donated a computer and Rs 2 lakhs for the community hall.
MLA Ninong Ering lauded the initiative taken up by LEWA and the villagers of Ledum.
“With Ledum being the village producing the highest number of government officers, the onus is on us that we impart good education to the younger generation as they are the torchbearers of our society,” said Ering.
Former MLA Tatung Jamoh, government officials, public leaders and GBs attended the programme.
