BASAR-NELLO, 19 Apr: Health Minister Alo Libang on Monday inaugurated a 30-bedded hospital here in Sangdupota circle of Papum Pare district, in the presence of local MLA Tana Hali.
Libang expressed hope that the new hospital would deliver services to the people of Sangdupota circle.
“I am feeling very happy to inaugurate this hospital. The new building has been properly constructed. I appeal to the officials of the health department posted in this hospital to make good use of the infrastructure and serve the people of the area with dedication,” said Libang.
Addressing concerns over funding for the stalled district hospital in Doimukh, the health minister assured to work out a solution. “Due to communication gap there has been some problem over funding of the Doimukh district hospital. Along with local MLA Tana Hali Tara, we will work out a solution to complete the district hospital,” he said.
Libang also said that enough manpower has been deployed in the hospitals of Papum Pare, and that there should not be any issue over manpower.
Responding to some of the demands placed by the public in a memorandum submitted to him, Libang assured to look into the appeal for further upgrading of the hospital in the future.
The local MLA in address termed the new hospital “a very important asset for the entire people of Sangdupota.”
Local leader Ngurang Changriang submitted a memorandum to the health minister on behalf of the local people.
“We desperately need one ambulance for the hospital. Also, there is no accommodation for health staff. Therefore, kindly grant funds for construction of two Type IV quarters for doctors and four bachelors’ barrack units,” said Changriang.
He also appealed for upgrading the hospital in the future.
Papum Pare DMO Dr K Perme was also present at the inauguration.
