ZIRO, 19 Apr: Principals and headmasters from various schools of Lower Subansiri district took part in an orientation programme under the ‘Ayushman Bharat school health and wellness programme’, jointly organized by the school education and the health departments here on Monday.
The aim of the programme was to create a unique opportunity to improve both the education and the health status of the learners throughout the district.
The school health programme under Ayushman Bharat is a collaborative programme of the union health & family welfare ministry and the HRD ministry.
Addressing the participants, Lower Subansiri DDSE Tabia Chobin while emphasizing the important role of the teachers in shaping the careers of the students said that “the issue regarding proxy teachers in the district will not be spared at any cost” and urged the principals, headmasters and teachers in-charge to be “vigilant over proxy teachers who are indulging in such activities.”
He said that teachers must also try to adapt to the changing times, “wherein a sea change has emerged in the process of learning and teaching,” and asked them to be fully equipped to “meet the ever growing school health demands of the new generation of students with the emergence of the second wave of Covid-19 in the country.”
School health programme coordinator Hibu Tatu also spoke. District ASHA Nodal Officer Dr Radhe Angku was also present.
