30 more beds to be ready for use in Chimpu DCH from Saturday

CHIMPU, 7 May: Thirty more beds for patients will be added to the dedicated Covid hospital (DCH) here, out which 28 will be fitted with D type and the remaining two with jumbo type oxygen cylinders, said TRIHMS Director Dr Moji Jini.

The beds will be ready for use from Saturday, he said.

On Friday, Dr Jini along with Health Secretary P Parthiban, ICR DC Talo Potom, Health Services Director Dr M Lego, ICR DMO Dr Mandip Perme, EAC Datum Gadi and a host of medical officers visited the hospital to take stock of its functioning.

The health secretary directed the DMO to start a triage centre for proper management

of Covid patients, and accordingly, the Donyi Polo Ashok Hotel has been requisitioned for Covid patients with mild and moderate illness. The severe cases will be referred to the DCH in Chimpu.

The patients will be monitored by a team of doctors at the centre and all necessary health check-ups, including X-ray, blood test, Covid tests and oxygen saturation tests will also be done at the triage centre, said the DMO. (DIPRO)
