ITANAGAR, 14 May: A team of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee’s Covid-19 monitoring committee (APCC-CMC), led by its chairman Gyamar Tana and APSD Young Brigade president Taba Tagam, along with philanthropist Gyamar Yama visited the health centres and the police nakas in rural Papum Pare, and expressed gratitude to the frontline workers there.
The team was carrying out its fifth round of food kits and PPEs distribution programme.
While inspecting a police check post, the APCC-CMC observed that the frontline workers were not equipped with PPEs like hand gloves, quality facemasks, face shields and hand sanitizers.
“The state government is risking the lives of frontline workers, exposing them to environment unprotected. They are working in most adverse situations to protect lives of lakhs in the state. A tiny negligence towards frontline workers’ safety will not be tolerated,” the APCC stated in a press release.
It demanded that “proper and quality PPEs” be made available for the frontline workers “as their lives need to be protected during and after the lockdown till Covid-19 is erased from the world.”
