ITANAGAR, 16 May: The state reported three Covid-19 deaths on Sunday, taking the total death toll to 81.
On 14 May, a 44-year-old female from Chowkham with comorbidity tested Covid-19 positive through TrueNat at the flu clinic at the district hospital in Namsai.
She was referred from the district hospital in Namsai to the dedicated Covid hospital in Pasighat on 16 May, where she passed away at around 12:30 pm due to Covid pneumonia.
Of the three deaths, two had been reported from Tawang district on 15 May.
A 33-year-old female from Tawang district passed away on Saturday at around 8 pm, midway during a journey, near Sela.
She had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the district hospital in Tawang on 15 May and passed away due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
A 51-year-old female from Rho village in Tawang district also passed away on Saturday at her residence. She had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the district hospital in Tawang on 8 May and passed away due to Covid pneumonia.
The patient had taken her first dose of vaccination on 3 May.
Of the 180 people who tested positive on Sunday, 69 are symptomatic.
The Itanagar capital region (ICR) reported 51 cases, followed by 21 cases in Lohit and 20 cases in Changlang.
Of the total cases detected in the ICR, 10 cases were reported through the Homespital mobile application.
Tawang, which is set to go under lockdown from Monday, reported 19 cases.
Lower Subansiri also continues to detect cases from containment zones. On Sunday, 11 cases were detected from containment zones and one is a primary contact. Another three cases were detected from the flu clinic.
The DCHs in Chimpu and Pasighat have 57 critical patients, while the DCHCs have 28 patients across the districts. The state quarantine facility in Lekhi has 37 occupants.
The state currently has 2,260 active cases. (See full bulletin)
