Shops sealed for flouting SOPs

CHANGLANG, 11 Jun: Changlang DC Dr Devansh Yadav has ordered sealing of several shops in Changlang headquarters for one week from 11 June after the shopkeepers were found flouting the Covid SOPs.

The shopkeepers were found flouting the SOPs during a surprise checking conducted on 10 June by EAC Mary N Taloh, Town Magistrate Todak Riba, SP Mihin Gambo and others.

The DA is stressing on observance of the SOPs by the shopkeepers as they interact with many customers and frequently go outside the district to get their stocks filled. There is a high chance that they might contract the virus and become sources of infection.

Meanwhile, the liquor shops in the district have been ordered to issue cash memo/bill to their customers. The shopkeepers/managers/salesmen have been directed to compulsorily take the Covid vaccine. Mandatory antigen test report is required for applying for permit, and wholesalers/retailers have been asked to produce Covid vaccine certificates by 30 June.

Earlier, on 5 June, the administration launched a ‘Covid vaccine awareness video competition’ to remove misinformation and misconception surrounding the Covid vaccine.

The theme of the competition is ‘Remove vaccine hesitancy among public’.

Only vaccinated persons in the district are eligible to take part in the competition. The winners, one male and one female, will be awarded cash prize of Rs 10,000 each. (DIPRO)
