FIR lodged against CM over Kimin episode

ITANAGAR, 24 Jun: The All Arunachal Pradesh Abo Tani Student’s Union, led by its president Langpu Apon Maru, has lodged an FIR at the police station here against Chief Minister Pema Khandu over the Kimin episode.

The union claimed in the FIR that the CM had met Project Arunank Chief Engineer, Brigadier AS Chonker, on 14 June, days before the inauguration of the Kimin-Potin road work by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on 17 June.

“The BRO chief engineer invited and briefed the CM about the inauguration of the project and the chief minister has a nexus and the nefarious design to cede the Kimin-Potin portion of land of Arunachal to Assam state,” it claimed.

Further claiming that it has prima facie evidence against the chief minister “to proceed against him in any competent court,” the union demanded to know why the CM “betrayed the people of the state.”

“If any such serious matter arises, he has utmost duty to inform the citizens about seriousness of the issues,” it said, alleging that the CM “connived with the BRO authority in particular and the defence minister as a whole to deprive the land right and title of Arunachalees.”
