ITANAGAR, 11 Jul: The Galo Welfare Society (GWS) has deeply mourned the demise of executive engineer Kirba Sora, who breathed his last in a Guwahati hospital on Saturday after fighting a prolonged illness.
Recalling Sora as “a sincere and dedicated government employee who had served in many capacities during his service period,” the GWS said that Sora was also a prominent social worker of the Galo community and was serving as the president of the GWS’ West Siang district unit at the time of his passing.
“He was one of the pioneer members of the Galo Language Development Committee (GLDC) and held the post of GLDC vice chairman. In his untimely demise, the Galo community has lost a true stalwart, a social worker, a philosopher and a guiding light whose enormous contributions for the uplift of the Galo society will always be cherished and remembered,” the GWS said.
Extending deepest condolences to the bereaved family, the GWS prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
