RAGA, 12 Jul: The Kamle district administration has notified headquarters Raga as a containment zone from 5 am of 14 July onwards, in view of the rising Covid-19 cases here.
The notification was issued following the recommendation of the district’s health department.
Prior to the announcement, Kamle DC Adong Pertin convened an emergency meeting of the district Covid-19 task force to discuss the prevailing Covid situation in the district.
Pertin instructed the health department to speed up the vaccination drive for all categories of people, and to avail the voluntary services of all the stakeholders like anganwadi workers, teachers, panchayat leaders, GBs and religious leaders to remove misinformation surrounding the vaccine.
District Hospital MS Dr Nani Tarang said that a large number of Covid cases are being reported from the district headquarters and the number is continuing to grow.
Dr Tarang also made a presentation on the status of the Covid-19 infection rate in the district, vaccination programme, and availability of vaccine doses with the district’s health department. (DIPRO)
