AALO, 12 Jul: Aalo East MLA Kento Jini reviewed the Covid-19 situation in West Siang district with the district administration, the health department and other stakeholders on Monday.
Expressing concern over the spike in Covid-19 cases in the district, the MLA sought the opinions of all the stakeholders “in order to tackle the menace.” He stressed on taking “measures laid down under the guidelines of the disaster management authority to check the spread of the virus.”
Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi said that lockdown cannot be recommended unless immediately warranted, as per the guidelines, because it brings all activities to a halt in the district.
He said that measures like “imposition of curfew from 4 pm, declaration of areas as micro-containment zones, import of new labourers from outside, plying of vehicles on odd-even basis, ban on parties and intensification of patrolling” will soon be implemented after seeking government approval in certain cases.
Covid-19 nodal officer Liyi Bagra, DMO Dr Moli Riba and DSO Dr Jombom Kato also spoke. (DIPRO)
