ITANAGAR, 16 Jul: Two more Covid-19 deaths were reported on Friday, taking the state’s death toll to 199.
According to the DHS report, a 70-year-old male patient with comorbidity from Leparada died of Covid-19-related complications at the DCHC in Basar at 11 am.
The patient had complained of weakness and had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the district hospital in Basar on 15 July. He had been admitted to the DCHC in Basar on the same day. The patient had received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
An 83-year-old male patient with comorbidity from Lower Dibang Valley died of Covid-19-related complications on Friday at 1:40 pm at his residence in Bolung village.
The patient had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at the district hospital in Roing on 7 July and had been admitted to the DCHC in Roing on the same day. However, the patient’s family later opted for home isolation on 15 July. The patient’s vaccination status is nil.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 cases continue to increase with the state reporting 443 fresh cases on Friday, with 204 of them being symptomatic. The ICR reported the highest 112 Covid-19 cases, followed by 42 cases in Lohit and 36 cases in Lower Subansiri.
With 21 percent, Kurung Kumey reported the highest positivity rate in the state. The ICR reported a positivity rate of 16 percent.
A total of 356 patients in various health facilities across the state were declared recovered or discharged on Friday.
Currently, the DCH in Chimpu has a total of 46 patients, while the DCHC in Midpu and the DCH in Pasighat have three and nine patients, respectively. The SQF in Lekhi has 41 occupants (see full bulletin)
