PASIGHAT, 16 Jul: Telung Panyi, an undertrial prisoner (UTP) who had managed to escape from the Pasighat jail along with six other UTPs on 11 July, surrendered before the court of the district & sessions judge here in East Siang district on Friday.
Subsequently, he was rearrested by the police.
The UTP was facing trial for a case under Section 302 of the IPC and Section 27 (1)/29 of the Arms Act at the Tuting police station in Upper Siang district. He had been arrested in September last year.
With this, the police have so far rearrested four of the seven escaped UTPs.
