AALO, 18 Sep: MLA Kento Jini on Friday inaugurated a public toilet constructed under the initiative of Urban Development and Housing department in PPP mode in the heart of the township here in West Siang district.
The MLA lauded the efforts of the UD&H department and the contractors for jointly carrying out the construction work and urged them to charge minimal rate from the users and keep the toilet neat and clean.
He also highlighted the initiatives being taken by him for overall development of the district, especially Aalo town.
Jini said that an ambitious potable drinking water plant for Aalo town, installation of four ICU units, CT scan machine, dialysis unit, etc in the district hospital and CC pavements in all sectors are being taken up.
The MLA exhorted all to work as a team to bring back the past glory of Aalo town.
Stating that public utility services are must in the busy township areas, West Siang DC Penga Tato asked the department and contractors to maintain the toilet properly.
UD&H Deputy Director Hally Welly informed that the pay and use toilet has been leased out for 30 years with a monthly rent of Rs 8000 per month with five percent increase in the rent annually. (DIPRO)
