KAMBA, 16 Oct: This year’s ‘Anti-Drug Soccer Meet’, being organized by the Kamba Bango Sports Association (KBSA), got off to a flying start at the general ground here in West Siang district on Friday.
In the inaugural match, defending champion Libu Bene drubbed Keak Tato Sports Club by 5-2 goals.
Seventeen teams are participating in the tournament, which is being played on group league basis.
West Siang DC Penga Tato, who inaugurated the opening ceremony, commended the KBSA for organizing the tournament with the aim of eradicating the menace of drugs from the society.
Other government officers who attended the inaugural function also called for eradicating drug abuse, alcoholism and tobacco products from the society. (DIPRO)
