ITANAGAR, 26 Oct: A training programme on various schemes of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA): Integrated Scheme for School Education (ISSE) for the first batch of ZPCs and ZPMs of 13 districts and the mayor, deputy mayor and chief councillors and corporators of the Itanagar and Pasighat municipal bodies was inaugurated by Education Minister Taba Tedir at the DK convention centre here on Tuesday.
Tedir in his address commended the state government’s focus on training of teachers. He urged the PRI members to “comprehend the new education policy, so it will boost the development of the society,” and urged them to create awareness on the SSA (ISSE) schemes at the grassroots level.
Elementary Education Special Secretary Soumya Saurabh said: “Since the National Education Policy commits to universal access to quality early childhood education to all children under six years of age, the state government has decided to open 300 early childhood care and education (ECCE) in the state.”
She also said that the problem of students dropping out from schools needs to be minimized.
Saurabh thanked the state government for introducing ‘Mission Shiksha’ to provide good quality education to the students in an improved educational environment and to uplift the morale of the teachers.
Among others, Itanagar SSA (ISSE) DSPD Neelam Tan and SSA SPC Mido Kamki attended the programme. (DIPR)
