NYAPIN, 17 Dec: Minister for home Bamang Felix on Friday concluded the week-long tour to his constituency – Nyapin in Kurung Kumey district with a call for ‘team Kurung Kumey spirit’ for overall development of the district and its people.
Addressing the heads of various departments on the concluding day of the week-long tour, Felix urged the officers and officials ‘against limiting their work to official duties and take it as their responsibility to uplift the district and its people in all spheres.’
Reiterating his commitment towards the welfare of the public and support to the district administration for holistic development of the district, Felix called for a united, cooperative and coordinated work spirit as ‘team Kurung Kumey.’
Earlier, during his tour to Nyobia circle, the minister visited the proposed water conservation site at Kuduk and inspected the ongoing PMGSY road from Langrh to Leel village and the
proposed Kurung bridge site. While visiting the proposed Kurung bridge, the minister directed the authorities concerned to complete it in a time-bound manner.
Felix also visited Hiba, Nibi, Dera, Rowa and other villages in the circle. Interacting with villagers and panchayat leaders the minister underscored the importance of having a public will for development. He asserted that the state government already has the political will to bring development to every nook and corner of the state.
In Phassang circle, Felix visited the 250×250 MW mini hydel project (MHP) at Pinchi. The minister also inspected the ongoing Sango to Pinchi PMGSY road in Phassang circle, Pinchi inter-village government school, Payu bridge, Laya government secondary school, Lungsa circuit house, and Lungsa hqtrs. helipad.
In his visit to Nyapin circle, the minister inspected the ongoing PMGSY road from Nyapin to Paji and visited villages like Buduriang, Rate and Layang.
Felix, who visited Paji for the first time via road, directed the officials concerned to prepare plans for extending the road to other interior villages in the area.
He also interacted with the administrative officers of the Tadar Taniang Government College and directed them to draft a master plan for its further development. He visited the ongoing up-gradation work at the Tadar Tang CHC, Nyapin and directed the officials to complete it in a time-bound manner. A basic life support ambulance for the Tadar Tang CHC, Nyapin was also flagged off by the minister.
Minister Felix also visited the government higher secondary school, Nyapin and interacted with the teachers and students present. He advised the authorities concerned to prepare a plan for modernizing the school’s infrastructure.
In Sangram circle, Felix visited the government secondary school, Leel and appealed to the panchayat leaders and villagers to surrender some portions of their land for further development of the school.
He also visited the government higher secondary school, Sangram and inspected the ongoing girl’s hostel project under SJETA. He further visited the Pagba Middle School and inspected the ongoing construction work of the JNV Pagba.
He further visited the ongoing PMGSY road from BRTF road to Kaung village and inspected the two-lane road from BRTF road to Layang besides, the Kiate CRF road project and the Joram-Koloriang two-lane highway.
During his inspection of the Joram-Koloriang two-lane highway, Felix inaugurated a Dense Bituminous Macadam (DBM) plant at Package-6 of the inter-district highway and oversaw the commencement of blacktopping at Package 5 of the said road.
Later, the Minister visited under construction Helipad at Sangram, PHED division, Layang, SDO office, Pugriang, ongoing construction work of police and fire stations, Karuna Trust CHC, Sangram, and the Ane Moriam Mission School, Sangram, according to an official release.
