NAMSAI, 20 Jan: The Namsai district administration has banned all social, cultural, political, religious, sports, academic and environmental events within the district, in view of the exponential rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the district.
In an order issued on Thursday under Sections 30 and 34 (b) & (c) of the National Disaster Management Act, 2005, Deputy Commissioner RK Sharma stated that “any person violating these measures will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 and other relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and liable for legal actions under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and other legal provisions, as applicable.”
