Meeting on pension guidelines held

AALO, 20 Jan: Audit & Pension Director Karluk Ronya on Thursday held a meeting here with all the DDOs of West Siang district to discuss the pension guidelines and issues.

“Most of the pension cases are not settled on time, and in some cases there is inordinate delay due to wrong fixation of pays during pay revision; wrong calculation after ACP, MACP, promotion, etc,” Ronya said.

He said that the DDOs have a crucial role to play in “preparing an error-free pay fixation,” and stressed on “sending IPS for verification and betting periodic by the department of pension and audit, so that government officials do not suffer towards the end of their service life in settling their pensions.”

The director also highlighted the importance of submitting forms in advance by the retiring officials, besides pension calculations, methods to opt for pension commutation, pension eligibility, clear-cut entries in service books of the officials concerned, etc.

West Siang DC Penga Tato asked the DDOs to “make best use of the camp for the larger interest of retiring officials who run from pillar to post to get the pension settlements after retirement.”

“We are all bound to face the problem sooner or later, and it is important to know it in advance for our own interest too,” he said.

The DDOs spoke about the issues faced by their departments. (DIPRO)
