Addressing media persons at the state BJP office here on Sunday, Rijiju said that the budget has covered all the sectors.
“For the first time in the history of the Northeast, a huge amount of fund, amounting to Rs 78 thousand 40 crores, has been allocated, whereas in the 2021-22 budget the outlay for the NE states was Rs 68 thousand 20 crores,” he said.

An additional fund of Rs 1,500 crores has been allocated initially under the Prime Minister DevINE scheme – an initiative for the northeastern region – for the first time, the union minister said.
“This programme will cater to those areas were central funds are not being included, and will be implemented by the North Eastern Council,” he said, adding that DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy will soon meet the chief ministers of the eight NE states to discuss its implementation.
