BASAR, 10 Feb: The West Siang KVK organized a ‘training-cum-input distribution programme’ under the National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture-Technology Demonstration Component (NICRA-TDC) for 48 farmers here in Leparada district on Thursday.
While plant protection scientist Dr K Suraj Siang explained the importance of practicing climate-friendly agriculture, West Siang KVK Head Dr MS Baruah spoke on the importance of vegetable cultivation for livelihood improvement.
ICAR Arunachal Centre Joint Director Dr H Kalita advised the farmers to “grow more crops, so that farmers of this area can be self-sufficient, more particularly in vegetable cultivation.”
As part of the World Pulse Day, plant breeding scientist Dr R Nongthombam conducted an awareness programme on pulse crop cultivation.
Later, the farmers were provided with packets of vegetable seeds, small farm implements and organic manures.
