One more succumbs to Covid-19, state’s death toll at 294

ITANAGAR, 11 Feb: A 72-year-old man from the ICR died of Covid-related complications at the DCH in Chimpu late night on Thursday. With this, the state’s death toll has reached 294.

As per the DHS report, the patient had comorbidity and had tested Covid-19 positive through RAT at TRIHMS on 4 February. He had been admitted to the DCH on the same day.

The antecedent and immediate causes of death were acute respiratory distress syndrome with Covid-19 pneumonia.

The vaccination status of the patient is unknown.

Meanwhile, the state on Friday reported 50 Covid-19 positive cases, of whom 24 are symptomatic.

The ICR reported the highest 9 cases, followed by 7 cases each in East Siang and Lower Subansiri, and 6 cases in West Kameng.

With 57.1 percent, Changlang reported the highest positivity rate in the state.

A total of 177 patients in the state were declared recovered or discharged on Friday.
