KHUCHEP, 24 Feb: Forty progressive farmers from Changlang block attended a programme themed ‘Capacity building of farmers through training programmes on profitable dairy farming and livestock management’, conducted by the Changlang KVK at Khuchep village on Thursday.
The objectives of the programme were to impart knowledge to and develop the skills of the farmers in livestock management and dairy farming, and to enhance income and generate employability among the farmers through adoption of scientific livestock farming and dairy management.
During the programme, KVK scientist Dr Phoawang Aboh advised the farmers to “upgrade the existing breeds of livestock and poultry with new, improved breeds for maximum outcome and income generation,” while Fishery Officer Dusu Nobin trained the farmers in integrated livestock-fish farming system.
