PASIGHAT, 12 Mar: An enrollment drive under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) pension scheme for unorganised workers was held here in East Siang district on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, local MLA Kaling Moyong informed that the scheme would assure a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 for the enrolled unorganised sector workers during their old age. He appealed to the informal sector workers to enroll as beneficiaries in the nearby common service centre.
Labour Officer Tore Ete informed that a person aged between 18 and 40 years, earning a monthly income of Rs 15,000 or less, would be entitled to enroll their name.
Ete said that such drives are also being organised in Mebo and Ruksin subdivisions, in addition to Pasighat, and would continue up to 13 March.
