Governor interacts with schoolchildren

ITANAGAR, 12 Mar: Governor BD Mishra interacted with students of Tinsukia (Assam)-based Gyanangush Residential School at the Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.

A total of 110 students along with staff of the school had come to visit the governor and his wife Neelam Misra.

Addressing the students, the governor advised them to study well, play hard and be disciplined. He asked them to avail maximum benefit from the good facilities provided by the school and become good citizens.

He exhorted the students to prepare themselves to face future challenges, imbibe nationalism, and maintain high moral character and camaraderie.

He commended the Purvottar Vikas Parishad and the teachers and staff of the school for providing free education and shelter to needy children.

Later in the day, the students visited the Raj Bhavan compound and witnessed the ceremonial retreat, the lowering of the national flag at the Raj Bhavan by the officers and jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police stationed there.

Gyanangush Residential School is run by the Purvottar Vikas Parishad, which provides free quality education to orphaned children from all over Assam. The Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti is facilitating their three-day visit to the state. (Raj Bhavan)
