LONGDING, 24 Mar: The Longding battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR) celebrated the 187th Assam Rifles raising day here on 24 March.
Among others, ex-AR servicemen and veer naris of Longding district attended the ceremony.
Wreaths were laid at the memorials of the AR soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The event also witnessed felicitation of veer naris.
The ex-servicemen were informed about the various new policies of the government for their welfare.
A short documentary on the glorious history of the AR was also screened. (DIPRO)
