TAWANG, 8 Apr: An ‘advocacy meeting’ of the District Programme Implementation Committee (DPIC) on the extended Mission Parivar Vikas (MPV) was held at the DRCHO office here on Friday.
Tawang DRCHO Dr Rinchin Neema informed that the extended MPV has already been launched at the state level “and this programme aims to deliver assured high quality family planning methods by involving all the PRI members, GBs and administrative officers.”
He also informed about the ‘Saas bahu sammelan’ and the ‘Nayee pahel’ initiatives in the villages to encourage family planning.
The DPIC members decided to launch the MPV for Tawang district on 11 April, and to “put free condom boxes in all the health facilities of the district,” besides creating awareness on family planning at the grassroots level.
During the fortnight, the Sarathi vehicle will be used for generating publicity and educating the public in their local dialects about the free contraceptives available with the health department and its facilities.
