NAMSAI, 12 Apr: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein discussed the possibility of establishing a science centre and space museum in Namsai, during a meeting with representatives of the ISRO, led by the organisation’s Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO) Director N Sudheer Kumar, here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, various options for establishing
and operating such a centre were explored.
Mein asked Science & Technology Director Chau Dhanya Mungyak to prepare a DPR in consultation with the ISRO’s CBPO director.
The DPR will be submitted to the union culture ministry for funding the infrastructure.
The DCM thanked ISRO Chairman S Somnath for initiating the process for setting up the space museum and sending a team to Namsai.
Mungyak said that a proposal has already been submitted to the culture ministry for establishment of six science centres in Arunachal.
Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom, DC RK Sharma and DFO Tabang Jamoh also attended the meeting. (DCM’s PR Cell)
