ITANAGAR, 7 May: The police in East Kameng HQ Seppa have reportedly arrested a man in connection with an alleged rape case that took place there on Friday evening.
Police sources claimed that, on 6 May, at around 11:50 pm, a written complaint was received at the Seppa police station from a female who claimed that she had been physically assaulted and forcibly raped by one Babing Haffi (25) at around 8:45 pm at her rented room located behind the Seppa Bazaar Line.
The police formed an arrest team, comprising SI Shakti Lamgu and Constables M Doka and Cenia Yangfo. The team zeroed in on the location of the alleged accused and arrested him at around 12:08 am from Transport Colony in Seppa.
A case [u/s 376 (1)/341/323/354 B/506] has been registered at the Seppa police station, and it has been endorsed to Inspector T Loya for investigation.
The police further informed that the medical examination of both the victim and the accused has been done.
“All available biological evidences from the accused as well as the victim and also from the PO have been seized and shall be forwarded to FSL for examination” the police said.
The alleged accused was produced before the CJM’s court in Seppa, and is now under police remand.
