Social worker Obyak Ering passes away

PASIGHAT, 8 May: Senior citizen Obyak Ering breathed his last at the Bakin Pertin General Hospital here in East Siang district on Sunday after a brief illness.

He was around 90.

Ering was the younger brother of former union deputy minister Daying Ering. He was also the first Congress party president of Arunachal Pradesh, and was involved in many social activities.

Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, along with his family members and relatives expressed profound grief over the sudden demise of Ering.

“He looked after all of us after our father Daying Ering’s demise,” the MLA said in an emotional statement.

Many eminent persons and leaders of the Siang belt have expressed shock and grief over Ering’s demise, and said that in his death, the society has lost a leader and a social worker.
