PASIGHAT, 26 May: Fifty-two participants, including extension functionaries of the agriculture department and oil palm growers, participated in a two-day training programme on ‘oil palm cultivation practices’, organised by the State Agriculture Management & Extension Training Institute at the Gramsevak Training Centre (GTC) here in East Siang district from 25-26 May.
During the inaugural session, GTC Principal Sengo Dini highlighted “the importance and scope of palm oil and it’s feasibility in the state,” while District Agriculture Officer B Mengu dwelt on the details of the “oil palm scheme” and told the participants about the government subsidy for oil palm development.
GTC instructor MN Bori was the resource person.
