NAMSING, 29 May: An awareness programme against drug abuse was organised by members of the Women Against Social Evils (WASE), in collaboration with the East Siang police, here in Mebo subdivision on 27 May.
The WASE team was headed by its general secretary Joya Tasung Moyong. The police team comprised DSP (probationer) Chera Saban, Inspector Abraham Taying, and SI Aditya Chandra.
The programme witnessed active participation of people across genders and age groups. The villagers resolved to work with agencies that are fighting the drug menace in the society. They assured also to share inputs regarding illegal activities related to drugs.
Among others, WASE executive member Tipeng Langkam Megu, Namsing ZPM Gumin Tayeng, GBs, GPMs, village elders, youths, and Namsing WASE members attended the programme. (DIPRO)
