Young entrepreneur sets up bakery unit

KHONSA, 3 Jun: A bakery unit named ‘Moms Bakery’, set up by local youth and beneficiary of the Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Swavalamban Yojana, Abel Songthing, was inaugurated here in Tirap district on Thursday by Khonsa ADC Kretkam Tikhak, in the presence of DPO LR Roy and public leader Ngongphen Bangsia.

Songthing is from Old Lainwang village.

Lauding the young and educated entrepreneur for his venture, the ADC said that “the young man has set an example for the rest of the educated unemployed youths of TCL districts.”

The ADC appealed to all educated unemployed youths to avail various central and state government schemes for sustainable livelihood.

He inspected the equipment of the bakery and urged the staff there to maintain hygiene and obtain medical fitness certificates to ensure that they are physically sound.

Expressing gratitude to the central and state governments, the district administration, and the SBI, Songthing said that he was unable to complete his law degree course due to the Covid pandemic.

“Corona has taught us all to work hard and become self-reliant. I decided to become a job provider instead of a job seeker, and it led to the establishment of this bakery unit,” he said, and appealed to his fellow educated unemployed youths to avail government schemes and become self-reliant.
