2 get life imprisonment in APRB cashier murder case

PASIGHAT, 8 Jun: The sessions court here in East Siang district convicted accused Subash @ Haradhan Mondal and Ramesh Yadav and sentenced them to life imprisonment for the murder of Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank’s (APRB) Mebo branch cashier Bomge Nyori.

Nyori was murdered inside the bank in the evening of 7 February in 2018.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 10,000 each on the convicts, failing which they will have to serve additional six months in prison.

They have further been convicted under section 201 of the IPC with fines of Rs. 1000 each and sentenced them to three-year rigorous imprisonment. In default of payment of the fine, they will have to serve additional simple imprisonment of one month in jail.

Earlier this year, the same court had convicted four accused in Kaying (PS case 10/2012) U/S 302/34 IPC, R/W section 27 (1) Arms for the offence u/s 120B/302/34 IPC r/w 25/27 (1) of Arms Act and sentenced them to life imprisonment.

The court also sentenced one person to life imprisonment in Yingkiong PS case No 57/06, U/S 302/307/326 IPC (State-Vs- Tayum Bikku) for commission of offence u/s 302/326 IPC. (DIPRO)
