ITANAGAR, 13 Jun: The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) has taken suo moto cognisance of the media report about the attempted murder of a woman by her husband in Tigdo in Papum Pare district, and the subsequent murder of the accused husband by the relatives of the woman.
The commission condemned both incidents and requested the Papum Pare SP to take necessary action against the lawbreakers. It requested all to cooperate with the police in the investigation process.
Expressing grave concern over the increasing incidents of crimes against women and girls in the state, APSCW Member Secretary Mabi Taipodia Jini urged the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to prevent such crimes and to take action against the criminals.
