LIKABALI, 14 Jun: NGO MM Charitable Trust (MMCT), in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Drug De-Addiction Society, organised an awareness programme on ‘Drug abuse prevention and illicit trafficking’ at New Life Mission School here in Lower Siang district on Tuesday.
Addressing the students, MMCT project manager Jumgo Taipodia said, “It is the duty of all stakeholders to join in creating awareness about the illegal use of drugs and the measures to be taken to prevent this menace,” adding that “the increasing drug users in Arunachal Pradesh, especially among the youth, poses a grave danger.”
He conducted a session on the danger of drug abuse and rehabilitation and treatment of drug addicts.
Border Students Union general secretary Todak Ngomle encouraged the students to get help from their parents and teachers when they face difficult life situations, stating that “adults tend to provide better life advice than peers.”
