CHANGLANG, 15 Jun: The Changlang deputy commissioner Sunny K. Singh through an executive order under section 133 CrPC and in pursuance of government order has prohibited inter-district and inter-state transportation of cattle, including cow, mithun, buffalo, goat, sheep, pigs etc. in Changlang district with immediate effect until further order.
“Anyone found violating the order shall be liable for prosecution under section 188 IPC or any other relevant section of the law in force,” the order said.
The state government on Tuesday, issued directive to all the district administrations to prohibit inter-district and inter-state transportation of cattle in view of the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in livestock.
The DC further directed the SP, all the ADM/executive magistrate to take necessary measures to enforce the order effectively.
All the check gate incharges at Namchik, Namdang, Jairampur, Bordumsa, Namtok have also been directed to restrict movement of cattle inside Changlang district.
The district veterinary officer has been asked to take all preventive steps.
