PASIGHAT, 18 Jun: Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering on Friday visited the government higher secondary school (GHSS) in Bilat in East Siang district and took stock of its infrastructure and other facilities.
During his visit, Ering sanctioned Rs 1 lakh for the renovation of the school building, and gave assurance that “more sanctions will be provided if and when required.”
The MLA asked the school authority to “prepare a plan for extension of the school building with classrooms, a library, and computer rooms.”
Interacting with the students and the teachers, he advised them
to “use the English language as the medium of communication in the school premises.”
Members of the school management committee informed the MLA that the GHSS, which had been upgraded in 2017, is yet to receive the corpus fund for infrastructure development.
Ering was accompanied by East Siang DDSE Odhuk Tabing and block-level education officials of Ruksin.
