Police doing commendable job against drug smuggling

In a major drug haul, the Naharlagun police seized cannabis (ganja) worth over Rs 50 lakhs from a house in Naharlagun, and arrested a woman on Saturday. Reportedly, the husband-wife duo was selling them. The police arrested the wife while the husband is still absconding. The capital police deserve huge appreciation for such a major drug haul. This arrest will definitely send a strong message to the drug smugglers operating in the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR). Ever since Jimmy Chiram took over as SP of the ICR, a major offensive action against drug peddlers has been launched.

Many drug smugglers have been arrested and their chain linkage destroyed. The capital police have been relentless in their pursuit of the drug smugglers. Hope the police will file a strong case in the court, so that smugglers are strongly punished for their heinous crimes. The people of the ICR also should extend all possible help to the police by reporting drug smugglers operating in their areas. Today drug abuse is the biggest threat to the state. The lives of many youths are getting destroyed due to it. The easy availability of drugs in the open market has made them drug addicts. The capital police are doing a commendable job by trying to disrupt the drug supply chain by arresting the smugglers. The state government should extend all possible support to the capital police under the leadership of SP Jimmy Chiram.
