HAYULIANG, 10 Jul: Fifty-five farmers from Walong circle participated in a training programme on ‘Livelihood improvement of tribal farmers through capacity development in livestock and poultry sector’, organised here by the Anjaw KVK on Sunday.
“The programme was aimed at improving the income of farmers of the easternmost corner of Walong circle by imparting scientific knowledge on rearing livestock and poultry,” the KVK informed in a release.
During the programme, KVK Head (in-charge) Dr Santosh Kumar explained the basics of poultry rearing, piggery management and duck farming “in the context of Anjaw and the hill region.”
Emphasising on promoting natural farming and organic livestock production, he made a presentation on “the use of local herb in livestock health and feeding.”
The GBs of Dong and Tinai villages also spoke.
