AUS to provide free education, hostel accommodation to martyr’s daughter

NAMSAI, 9 Feb: The Arunachal University of Studies (AUS) here said that it will “shoulder the responsibility of Yaming Yajo, daughter of late Naik Tape Yajo, who was martyred in 2008 while fighting terrorists in Poonch (J&K), for pursuing GNM programme from the university, with hostel accommodation, without any fee.”

Late Tape Yajo, a resident of Karo village in Shi-Yomi district, had served the Indian Army with distinction for more than 12 years. He was one of the most decorated army men, with several gallantry medals, including the 50th Year of Independence Anniversary Army Medal, the Vishisht Seva Medal with Clasp Bhutan, the Special Seva Medal with Clasp Suraksha, the OP Rakshak Medal, the High Altitude Medal, the 9 Years Long Service Medal, the OP Parakram Medal, and the Kriti Chakra posthumously.

“The entire AUS fraternity is overwhelmed to be able to extend its heartiest gratitude to martyr late Naik Tape Yajo for his ultimate service to the nation,” the university stated in a release.
