ITANAGAR, 13 Feb: The Itanagar station of All India Radio (AIR) celebrated the World Radio Day here on Monday.
Participating in the event, AIR Itanagar Deputy Director N Ramanjanappa stressed on the importance of radio, especially in Arunachal Pradesh, and appealed to the AIR staffers to “give more emphasis on the contents and quality of the programmes, so that it can benefit the listeners.”
The AIR has five stations in the state.
The World Radio Day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012, and is observed every year on 13 February. This year’s theme is ‘Radio and peace’.
